Pullip is a collectible fashion doll
She can wear Blythe clothes. She is a little taller than Blythe hence Blythe clothes maybe a little short on her.
She is a ball joint doll so she can pose and is much more flexible than Blythe.
Pullip also has a unique eye mechanism that allows her eyes to move back and forth and wink via controls on the back of her head.
Pullip dolls can be customised or personalised to the owner's taste with relative ease.
The head and eye mechanism can be taken apart with a simple screw driver, much more easily than Blythe dolls, or even Barbie. Customisations range from wig changing, body changing and eye changing to 'new' dolls with completely new designs from makeup and hair to elaborate costumes.
Jun Planning authorized a Pullip Magazine that was devoted largely to customizing, which included doll patterns and instructions for changing eyes, hair, and makeup.
Pullip is a fashion doll that expresses today’s present feeling.
She stands 30cm tall (about 12 inches), and she is fully articulated.
Pullip can open and close her eyes, and look side to side.
A new Pullip Fashion doll is issued every month.
Each doll comes with a unique outfit and accessories, trading card and a doll stand.
Pullip means, “leaf” (young) in Korean.
Pullips are for collecting and displaying.
They are not made for play like a Barbie or Blythe doll.

There is a sort of 'sub-craze' associated with the big eyed Blythe and Pullip dolls. Owners proudly show off their customised and other
collection in photographs on the various blogs and forums there are about these dolls on the internet.
When you purchase a Pullip or Blythe you soon become hooked, and start to access the mind bogling array of both comercial
and home made outfits and accessories, made for these dolls and sold on ebay.
Pullip dolls are not toys like Barbie, they are sort of the Japanese equivalent to porcelain dolls. They bring a sense of imagination and
craft back to those who may have lost theirs. They bring back childhood freedom and imagination in world where this is mostly lost,
tainted and corrupted.
Pullips are fashion dolls created by Korean company Cheonsang Cheonha and produced by Japan's JUN Planning.
They are characterised by their oversized heads, reminiscent of anime style, and their articulated plastic bodies.
Three different Pullip bodies have been released. The first releases from 2003 were all on a body similar
to that of articulated Marmit dolls. This body was discontinued and replaced with a second type of body when Venus was released,
this body was used on all releases through to Paja in 2005.
The first doll to use the newest type 3 body was the limited release Summer Purezza. This body is more petite than the previous ones,
and is the body currently in use. Type 4 was released April /May /June 2009.
A new Pullip is released each month, occasionally two as a sort of set (eg. the Cosmic twins and Lan twins).
Each Pullip release is accompanied by a Dal or Taeyang, alternating between the two.
New releases are typically announced 3 months before the finished dolls will be available.
Each release is limited to a single run of an unspecifiec amount. JUN Planning has repeatedly refused to disclose the actual amount,
so it may not be a set number.

PULLIP BODIES
They were first released in 2003, with what's known nowadays as the "Type 1" body. This body has visible screws, large busts and weak necks.
In December 2003 a new body is used, now referred as "Type 2", which has a soft-plastic torso, removable hands and feet.
A third body was created on 2005, the "Type 3" body, first used in the Lan Twins.
Type 4 body first appeared in Grell.

Made of hard plastic, its hands and feet are smaller and cannot be removed. These bodies have their failures and not everybody
is a fan of them, doll owners usually replace them with Obitsu or Volks bodies. These products come in a limited range of colors,
so you need to remember that they will not be a perfect match.
Some photos are of customised dolls and do not represent the features of the doll for sale.
All pullip dolls come in unopened original window box and include dress, accessories, doll stand and profile card.
Please note that Pullip dolls have many moving joints and can be broken easily. Spare limbs are in limited supply and bodies can be exchangeable.
Pullip dolls are colourful and exciting and meant primarily for display and collection.
Dolls contain small parts and are not meant for children under 15 years of age.
Clothes, shoes and accessories are readily available throughout the world to individualise your doll.
Many Pullip releases have been known to contain Jun Planning factory flaws.
These may include and are not necessarily restricted to:
body staining, un-hemmed clothing, loose stitching, stuck eyelids, plastic melts,
stiff body joints, loose body joints and even broken limbs.
Stock issues have been noted in Groove products.
